Now what?  How do you go about achieving the goals that you have set?  Going to the gym and aimlessly wandering from machine to machine is not going to get you any where.  What you need is to get a program set specifically for what you want to achieve.  If you have the resources available to you, have a professional do a complete assessment of you and review your goals.  From there you will be ready to step into the gym and get to work.  Without a plan it is virtually impossible to reach your goal.

 For example, my best friend and I have set a challenge for each other to see who can get the most toned and defined body.  We both have very different body types so that alone will make this an interesting challenge.  We are also both highly competitive, so we will do everything we can to win the challenge.  The deadline is for summer, so we can show off our hard work.  Because of the difference in our body types, we cannot do the same program and get the same results.  This is an excellent example why cookie cutter programs that you find in fitness magazines do not work for everyone and why you should get the help of a trained professional. 

Most Personal Trainers offer complimentary consultations, so you have nothing to lose by setting one up.  At the very least you will get some idea of where to start, and if you like what they have to say, even better.  Now you will have someone to keep you on track.

Over the next little while I will be posting articles with different program selections for weight loss, toning, improved fitness and some sport specific program ideas.  Mixed in with all of that, I will be including some healthy recipes and nutrition tips.  And I will also be updating you about how my fitness challenge is working out with my best friend.
